This evening’s program on the enchanted grounds of the General Theological Seminary in Chelsea features three works that contemplate life and encourage us to look at the sky in search of answers. There will be a New York Premiere of "The Nature of Light" by 2016 Festival Composer-in-Residence Michael Gandolfi followed by a World Premiere of a Festival-commissioned piece by composer J.P. Redmond, whose "Wilt Thou Therefore Rise" with text by John Donne for chamber orchestra will feature soprano Gillian Bell.

music community.

More than 150 musicians will participate in 80 performances at 24 different venues throughout the day in this multi-village event. Genres include Folk, Rock, Classical, Jazz, Bluegrass,
and World. Seasoned professionals, budding musicians, and everyone in between will perform.

J.P. will perform classical and original music and screen the silent film "The Haunted House" with his original score at 12:00 PM.

Additionally, J.P. will give a composer/pianist presentation which will feature several of his works. Besides playing recordings, J.P. will perform "Manhattan" from his Northeastern Sonata for piano, and he will screen Buster Keaton's "The Haunted House" with his score. Q&A will be held afterward.

Eva Ingolf premieres J.P. Redmond's new solo violin piece, Pizzicarco, at Vox Novus' Beginning with ONE concert.

This is the kick-off for a series of promotional concerts for the Vox Novus festival in 2015. The event will present highlights of Vox Novus original and innovative performance series: including 60x60, Composer's Voice, Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame, Circuit Bridges and ONE.

Beginning with ONE presents world premieres by NYC based composers Margaret Schedel, J.P. Redmond, and Douglas DaSilva. It showcases Lyra dancer Megan Hornaday, violinist Eva Ingolf, composer/vocalist Robert Voisey, guitar & cello of Duo Anova, violist Conway Kuo, guitarist Oren Fader, and special performances by flautist Melanie Chirignan performing works by Atanas Ourkouzounov, Jason Ulysses, Rain Worthington, Masatora Goya, Benjamin Boone, and Joe Gianono.
